Project History
Accidents happen
Maybe you saved over your progress, accidentally deleted a layer, or you just prefer your artwork the way it was yesterday. Project History is here to help!
Time to Restore
Project History is a time machine. Access saved versions of your project and safely restore your project if something goes wrong. Enjoy peace of mind with safe backups happening behind the scenes!
- Long press a project and tap Restore
- Scroll through the saved versions of your project
- Choose the version you want to Restore. Infinite Painter creates a copy of your project and transports you back in time to that previous save point!
Save on your terms
Infinite Painter automatically saves your changes when leaving a project, but you can also create save points by tapping Save in the Options panel. Get quick access to saving by dragging the Save icon to your custom toolbar!
- Tap Options (the three dots in the top-right) to open the Options panel
- Tap Save to add versions to Project History
- Long press to drag the Save button to your custom toolbar for quick saving!
- Customize the Save Changes Prompt and other saving settings in the Settings (especially if you want to discard changes when leaving a project)
Manage project versions
Restoring a project is safe.
When restoring a project, Infinite Painter creates a copy of your project from that previous version instead of restoring over your current project. You can restore projects if something goes wrong. You can also restore projects to create copies of earlier versions to try out different ideas. The restored project copy is added to the top of your projects folder. It contains earlier versions of your project just like the original project. So, you may want to delete those versions to save storage space on your device.
Delete project versions by long pressing a project, pressing Restore, and pressing Delete on the desired version.
Warning: Deleting a version is treated like cutting a timeline so all versions before that version are also deleted. Deleting project versions is permanent and cannot be undone.
Congratulations!
Now that you’re a skilled time traveler, how will you use the power of Project History to your advantage?
